BIRTHDAY BLUES
[audio m4a="http://notsomumsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/3-11-99-Red-Balloons.m4a"][/audio]This week I've started planning Archie's second birthday party. Such a bitter-sweet time for a mother. I love watching him grow into his own little person and cherish our funny conversations, but I miss my little baby already. Today he told me to "go way mama"... What the?! Like most 2 year olds he is balloon obsessed. We always have "nanoons" on standby at any given time and I'm constantly out of breath. So I've gone a little OTT on the balloon front for his big day, which brings me to this week's TGIF track- 99 RED BALLOONS- a guaranteed party favourite and so fun to daggy-dance to. Archie's been busting out his moves all afternoon.
Below is the recipe for the perfect summer party cocktail. It's super easy to make by the jug and is what I'll be serving the adults at the party.
Happy Friday Mamas!xo
CAJUN LEMONADE COCKTAIL
350ml Vodka
120ml Pim's
250ml fresh lemon juice
120ml cooled Syrup (one cup of water and one cup of sugar, boil then simmer until sugar is dissolved)
250ml lemonade
In a large resealable container, combine all of the ingredients except ice, the lemonade and the lemon wheels. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour. Cover tightly and shake, then pour into an ice-filled jug. Strain into ice-filled rocks glasses, stir in the lemonade and garnish with lemon wheels. Enjoy!
