MALDIVES WITH KIDS? YES YOU CAN!

I thought we had discovered the best place the world to take the children on a family holiday but boy has our holiday to the Maldives changed everything! This place ticks all the boxes for families with children all ages.

The Maldives is traditionally known as a honeymoon destination, but the shift in thought as a family destination has well and truly begun. It is the absolute BEST place in the world we have travelled with our children. Now it is THE place celebrities go for a family holiday or to celebrate Christmas with their children, we saw numerous “famous faces” at the resorts we were at.

First up we went to Gili Lankanfushi which is consistently named as the Number 1 Luxury Resort in the world. Gili is a true barefoot luxury resort with shoes being optional throughout the resort including staff!

It’s the sort of place where your favorite freshly squeezed juice combination is waiting for you at breakfast because they remembered what you ordered yesterday, where you leave your sunglasses on the beach and before you get back to your room they are waiting there all polished with a cloth and right beside your bed. This is where you take your children to the beach and immediately a huge basket of beach toys and an array of inflatables are brought to your children to play with. At Gili Lankanfushi you do not want for anything and most importantly, nor do you even need to ask.

The personal “Mr Friday” service for each villa

The mantra “Anything at all you want, can be done here”

Outdoor cinema, you request any movie ever and they provide it with popcorn and a chocolate fountain

Bamboo bikes to ride around on (with gorgeous basket on the back for toddlers, our little guy loved this!)

The way celebrities were afforded privacy but it was the sort of place they still were happy to mingle

The incredible colour and clarity of the water

Best Day Spa we have ever been to with treatment rooms overwater so you watch the marine life through glass in the floor during treatments

24 hr Butler who took care of every whim and took our children out on pirate boat rides and Golf Buggy driving lessons

And…The food…Oh my goodness…the food!
