HELP NEW MUMS GET THE SUPPORT THEY NEED THIS FESTIVE SEASON
BY JESSICA BOSCO
Breastfeeding is a wonderful thing; it helps nurture and grow our babies and helps develop the bond between mother and child. But breastfeeding is hard. For some, it may come easily, but for many new mums is takes lots of guidance, support and understanding to help navigate through those difficult early days both physically and emotionally.
If you’re a mum who has breastfed there’s a good chance you’ve probably come across the ABA (Australian Breastfeeding Association) at some point in your motherhood journey.
The ABA is a not-for-profit that provides critical support to breastfeeding mums, caregivers and families.
Throughout December, the Association receives upwards of 5000 calls to the National Breastfeeding Helpline, a 24-hour free service staffed by trained volunteer counsellors that can be a lifeline for new mums looking for information and support they can trust. Mums can also access a wealth of information and support services via the ABA app, Mum2Mum, through the ABA website, Breastfeeding Education classes and local support groups.
In order to continue to provide these vital services for families, ABA needs your help. Consider a gift to the ABA’s 2019 festive appeal.
Your donation assists them to:
Provide counselling and support services
Continue to support research into breastfeeding
Provide education and training
Foster community awareness and raise support
Your support can make a real difference in the life of a new mother and her baby. #reachingmoremums #abafestiveappeal19
